There are several Area-Specific Compliance Offices (ASCOs) at the university. They are highly specialized compliance functions and they give direction and assistance to the university community to help ensure compliance. Administratively, the ASCOs report to various members of senior management.

ASCO’s duties include the following:

  • Staying on top of governmental regulations affecting their areas.
  • Developing, issuing and maintaining compliance policies for the university.
  • Providing compliance training and education to the university community.
  • Performing routine compliance monitoring to ensure compliance is occurring.
  • Addressing and resolving compliance issues that arise.
  • Participating in internal and external audits.

The Executive Director of Compliance and Audit receives regular reports from the ASCOs and meets with ASCO leaders in order to assess and monitor compliance on the part of the ASCOs.
